Vaccines for Poliovirus

Poliovirus is a causal agent of poliomyelitis in human beings. First attempt to describe the complete structure of poliovirus RNA was made by Kitamura et al. (1981). Since then it has become an easy task to have the expression of genetic information of poliovirus. Antipoliomyelitis vaccines through genetically engineered bacterial cells have not been synthesized so far.
